December all dressed up challenge

Hello everyone

It is the last 2017 challenge over at All dressed up, almost time to out the Christmas stamps away for 6 months....

Time for the last couple of Christmas cards from me using Wendy's gorgeous images (well until June anyway)  I am next year going to try and make a Christmas card a week, save me making loads in the back end of the year.  It will be nice to pull out the spring papers and daffodils soon though!

You know the rules, any image from the All dressed up catalogue found on Etsy (or using a freebie from the Blog), with anything goes challenge, to win three images.

Here's my entry using Merry and Bright - found here

This is my first outing using Copics.  I met Faye Wynn-Jones at a recent craft fair at the Motorcycle museum in Birmingham, and decided to take the plunge.  I have more on the way courtesy of Santa, but purchased a few using her advice on colour tones.  Thank you Faye - I may never look back!

I decided on my favourite colour tones of Purple and silver (well grey but it looks close enough!)

Backing papers are Digi Lili of the valley ones, die cut snowflakes and circle is a tattered lace die set.

Hope to see you over at all dressed up blog, or if your card fits the category of 'warm winter wishes' then you can enter on our Facebook page too.  both will give you the chance to win images, and be entered in for a GDT spot if you wish...

See you soon

Rach

November All dressed up challenge

Hello everyone

I cannot believe we are already half way through November, Christmas is really sneaking up fast!

To make some of my neighbours cards, I thought I'd use the cute snowglobe image from all dressed up, (you can buy it from etsy here)  and also use it for my inspiration for this months challenge.

You know the score - three images up for grabs for the winner, and a chance to be a GDT as chosen by our lovely DT.

The only rule - you must use an all dressed up image, however, if you don't have any, check out our blog as there are several including the cutest ballerina!

Also don't miss out on our Facebook challenge too with the theme shimmer and shine.... at this time of year, everything is sparkly, so why not enter both.

I used kraft card  and a couple of sheets from gilded winter first edition pad as backing and mounts and all the edges were inked with distress inks.

The stitching is faux, using a pokey tool wheel, and a marker pen.  he doily is a spellbinders die, and the image is die cut using a tattered lace stitchy die.
Finished with some die cut poinsettias that I inked with distress inks, and a berry die also from tattered lace that I added some cosmic shimmer pearl PVA for berries.

even if you don't want to enter, please hop over to our blog, Facebook or Pinterest and check out the fantastic DT inspiration,

Thanks for stopping by:

I'd like to enter this into:

Crafting from the heart - anything goes

October new release

Hello Dressie fans (and for those who are not, please bear with me!)

There are some fabulous new designs over at all dressed up, it was difficult to chose which one to use!  If you want to buy one of these or any other images, you can find the Etsy shop here.  Of course if you want a freebie, or to win an image, check out our blog for more details!

Here they are:

For my inspiration I used snowy days

I used a blue background that fades as you get towards the bottom, as the base card, and then die cut a hill and trees to form the background

I then coloured the snowman in promarkers and added my obligatory glitter.  The sentiment is a hobbyart set of Christmas sentiments.

My team mates have made some gorgeous inspirational cards over on both the blog and the Facebook page.  There are challenge on both too, FB is all about pink and pearly and the blog is (as always) anything goes.  The only rule is that you must use an All dressed up image.

Thanks for dropping by, please check out the blog here or FB here

All dressed up - September challenge

Hello everyone

I cannot believe its September already, the year has just flown by!

My post is a little late, so sorry about that, life has a habit of getting in the way sometimes!

As its September and the leaves are turning brown, I thought I'd use this cutie in my card called a splash of Autumn colour, and you can find it, and many other gorgeous images in the All dressed up etsy shop

Our blog challenge (click here!) runs until 14th October so plenty of time to get your entries in, and its anything goes for a chance to win three of Wendys' fabulous images.  Our Facebook competition is also on here.  This is for square cards, so a really easy challenge this month.

Here's my inspiration

I did a gatefold card, using some Nitwit digipapers printed onto pearlescent card.  The image is coloured with promarkers and I punched out those flowers in autumn papers too.

Hope you like it!  see you soon with more crafty makes

I used a backing paper from a daisy trail digikit, and my tattered lace dies to die cut the card blank and layers

Let Christmas commence

Hello everyone

I couldn't resist the new Lili of the valley images that were recently released, both the sentiments and the images were just so cute, I had to have them. I think this Santa maybe my new favourite!

Here's the first of my cards made with them

The background is the postal set of digi stamps.  I placed them randomly to make a background and changed them and the main sentiment to a sepia colour using craft artist.  The image was coloured with promarkers and a little glitter added for the snow. I used a couple of scraps of green for the layers and voila - another Christmas card to add to the pile for December.

Hope you like it.

August All dressed up challenge

Hello everyone

I can't believe its the middle of August already.  I guess it won't be long before my blog is filled with Christmas makes!

It is again time for the All Dressed up challenge, and a fantastic opportunity to win three of Wendy's amazing images.  It always anything goes providing you are using an All dressed up image.  And if you haven't yet brought any, check out our blog as there is a page full of freebies!

There's also our Facebook page with another opportunity to win three images.  This theme is Girlz rule.  Our page is here

This image is called - the cats whiskers found on Etsy.  This is a really simple card.  I used Craftwork cards backing paper and a plain pink from my stash for the background.  The image required only a little shading, so if you're not a great colourist, this is perfect.   I gave her a big pink bow and beautiful blue eyes, and then cut her out.  Layering the whole thing onto a landscape A5 card.

Please check out the blog and FB for more inspiration, and especially to check out the new release images.  I'll be back on 22nd with a couple for you!

I'd like to enter her into:

Thank you sooooo much for droppiong by, I hope you like her!

its beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

Hello everyone

I did say yesterday that it would soon be time to fill my blog with Christmas makes..... and here is the first of many!

This one is a lovely Christmas village scene using creative expressions stamps.

I've stamped them and coloured with promarkers, cut each piece out (the trees took a while!) and then used copious amounts of glitter.  I am covered in it!

I've layered it up on silver mirri for the mat and used a creative expression embossing folder for the background layer.  I've then rough cut hills and used foam pads for dimension.  Layered the village together and glued in place, and I just love the effect!

This last photo is to show the dimension and layering.

I'd like to enter this into:

Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas - anything goes (without the optional twist I'm afraid)
Imagine that digi stamp - anything goes
Creative fingers - anything goes
Christmas at sweet stamping - anything goes (Christmas)
Crafty creation challenges - anything goes

Thanks so much for looking in - please leave me some love - it's so lovely to hear from you.

Shadow Box card.

Hello everyone

While doing a bit of blog hopping I came across a gorgeous blog with some fab pop up cards.  Arte Banale had also done a tutorial for a shadow box card that I took inspiration from.  Link is here

I used a Hunkydory stamp set called pretty princesses and stamped with Stazon.  I coloured them onto watercolour card with clean colour Kuretake markers and a water brush.

The background layer was water-coloured with tumbled glass distress ink, and I used a 'Joy' die of clouds too (although it is difficult to see them behind the castle!)

I then layered them up onto the tabs inside the card for dimension.  Sorry about the shadows on the photos, I couldn't get a good shot without the flash, which meant I had shadows behind....

The good thing about this card is that it folds flat into a 6 x 6 envelope for posting.  I just loved making it!

I hope you like it too.

I'd like to enter this into:
Polkadoodles - anything goes
C.R.A.F.T - anything goes
creative knockouts - cards for a child
Daydream Challenges - anything goes
Crafty creations - anything goes

Thanks for stopping by and especially for any messages you leave.  I love to read them all.

New releases part two July 2017

Hello everyone

If you haven't yet seen the new releases at all dressed up - now is your chance and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed!

Yet again, they are incredible images! and they are all available in the etsy store right now!

My inspiration for you this month was using mermaid kisses.  The font in the background is a little project my friend had written and I asked her permission to use.  Thanks Beth!
The mermaid was coloured with promarkers, and in addition to the sentiment I drew a sketchy line around the edge,  and voila!

I think this mermaid is one of the most adorable digi stamps I have seen, they are all fab, but there's something mysterious about a mermaid!

Don't forget our anything goes challenge is still running over on our blog, for a chance to win three free images from Wendy.  Our Facebook challenge is themes stars and stripes and you have until 31st July to enter this one.  If your project does have stars and stripes you can also enter the blog for extra chances to win!

Thanks for stopping by

See you soon
Lots of love

June new releases

Hello everyone

Phew its been a hot one here, as a schedule this post it's soo hot in my craft room the glue is drying before I can stick things together!  Oh well, living in England, I have to make the most of the odd days we get every year that we can actually class as summer days!

Its also very strange because as it is officially the hottest day of the year, I started making Christmas cards today... I know, its still early, but I have a couple of craft fairs this year so I'm making stock to take. I'll try and remember to post some!

Onto the new release.

All the new images from All Dressed up are available on Etsy.  And here they are... they are simply stunning!
Summer Breeze

Flower Pots

New Hair Do

Daddy's Day

I was lucky enough to be given 'New Hair do' and isn't she amazing!  I tried a couple of different cards with her, fussy ones and shabby chic ones, but the best by far was this very clean and simple card.  She is so striking, she didn't need anything else!

I of set her on the page and coloured her using promarkers.  I typed the sentiment using a free font, matted and layered it all and glued together.

I hope you like her!

Please hop over to the blog to check out the other talented DT work, and for further inspiration.  Also on there is details of this months 'anything goes' blog challenge for you to win images, or our Facebook comp is Monochromatic, oh and you can enter both if you wish!

Thanks for stopping by
