Fridays sketch challenge 55

Good Morning everyone

its time for the latest DT design for Friday Sketch challenge.  I thought I'd have a go at a mans card - they are always more challenging in my opinion, no flowers or glitter!

Hop on over to Friday Sketch Challenge and have a go with this sketch.  This is sponsored by
Sketch 55 looks like this:

And this was what I made using Watson mouse - they have Sherlock too, how cute!  I actually made two different cards as a couldn't decide, so just for you - here are both of them!

This is the one that on the blog - nice simple Man's card.  the little magnifying glass gave me chance to dust off the glossy accents, and he's great to colour!

I also made this one

Coloured again for a man's card in lovely autumn colours.

Ballerina

Hello everyone in blog land!

I did say in my earlier blogs that I had a lot to make for October.  its a busy birthday month, with my Brother, Nan, Niece, Son and best friends daughter's birthdays all within two weeks! phew... i have however made them all!

I'm sharing with you the cards made for my Niece and Hannah (who is my best buddies beautiful daughter)  these were both made using a gorgeous freebie I found on http://alldressedupchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/  they have some other stunning images on digi - I may have to treat myself on payday!.

the first one I want to enter into

Passion 4 promarkers - things that begin with P.  I used, patterned paper, pearls, pink and promarkers
Bearly mine - sketch
Avenue create 613 - choose your own challenge I used, image, sentiment, sketch (see above), Die cut, paper punch, stickles, pearls, button, ribbon and twine
cards galore - flowers
Allsorts - Ribbons and bows
Joanna Sheen - buttons (a flower shaped button on top of the bow)
Flutterby Wednesday - NO Orange or black but with a butterfly
Creative inspirations - Anything goes

I used the Digi image and re-sized, and printed it along with a pink backing paper on craft artist as well as a sentiment.  i then used a backing paper (I brought it from the Range but I cant remember the name of it...)  I then coloured in the Digi image using my trust promarkers - colours used were
Hair - ivory, vanilla, tan, caramel and shale
skin - almond, blush, sunkissed pink
dress - pale blossom, blossom, pink sorbet, rose pink, cool grey 3 and 4
i then paper punched  the butterflies and glittered them, it was then assembled using a cream ribbon (also coloured with blossom promarker), tied a bow with it and the twine, die cut the tag (a freebie from a card magazine i brought today - woo hoo!)  on top of this bow i stuck a flower shaped button, and a pearl on top of that.  finished with some well placed pearls and flowers.

The next card was the same image, but this time assembled for a simple look on craft artist.  It was then printed out and coloured with the same promarkers as above.

I want to enter this one into
Daring Card makers  - digital

All very pink a girly today!

Happy birthday Camille and Hannah!!

thanks so much for dropping in - and welcome the new followers!  leave me a message if you stop by so I know you've been
Lots of love

Age is just a number...

Good evening everyone.

just sitting down to find a few minutes to blog after a lovely meal with my whole family to celebrate my Nans 80th birthday (although her badge said 50!)  poor waitress - a table of 22...

As I've made them I thought I'd share my Nan's two cards, one from me and the other from Harrison.  He calls her G Nan as that's what she wrote one year on his present label because it was too small to write Great Nanny Hammond! she refused her age to be mentioned - hence no numbers on either but they were made for an extra special lady on a very special birthday.

I want to enter this one into

LoTV monthly challenge - anything goes
ABC - xtra special
http://jellyparkchallenges.blogspot.co.uk/ - Pinktober
http://bearlymine-challenges.blogspot.co.uk/  #108 - anything goes

I stamped the Lotv image an coloured using Promarkers and die cut her out (not sure the make of this die though!)  I then layered paper with kraft paper and distress all the edges using tea dye, used Washi tape, lace and a textured florist ribbon to layer up, along with a die cut butterflies and some flags (all distressed with tea dye too)  finished with a stamped tag and sentiment, flowers and stickles

The next one - I want to enter into
http://www.fashionablestampingchallenges.com/ - Make a card
apologies about the photo - the pearlescent card was very difficult to photograph without the glare!

This was stamped using Magestix bird and birdhouse stamp set, using various colour of Memento Dew drop inks.  finished with a lovely purple/pink ribbon

Thanks so much for dropping in - please leave me a comment so I know you've been.

Two more for Christmas!

Good evening everyone.  Well there goes another weekend, Why do they go so quickly compared to Mondays that  drag on and on and on!

The miserable weather and dark mornings don't help though do they - bring back Summer I say!

I'm currently tucked up in my craft room at my desk adjacent to the radiator with large Baileys in hand and thought I'd post a couple of things I've made.  I have a whole long list of more to make though - including my dear Nan's 80th birthday card.

Two more separate challenges.  Please scroll down for CAS-ual Fridays and ABC Challenge.

But first I thought I'd dig out those pink Christmas papers again that I've used before and make a really girly Christmas card, but in non-traditional colours.

The stamp was from the stamp fairy, and I coloured her in promarkers to match the card.  I used black card to matt and layer and a spellbinder die for the flourish.  I used 3 paper flowers and coloured them in promarkers to match the image, double tied a bow for behind, and used another die for the and flourish (I think this is a cheery Lynne one - but can't quite remember so please don't quote me on that!).  The sentiment was a wooden one, stamped with Versamark and embossed with heat it up black sparkle embossing powder and the card finished with a small amount of black stickles

This is to enter:
613 Avenue create Challenge #41 anything goes with layers
Sketch and Stash Challenge 123 - sketch (I have angled the layers but only slightly - hope this is ok..)
Christmas card challenges - Challenge #46 using pink

I  would like to enter the following card into
ABC challenge W is for words.
CAS-ual Fridays CCFC 117 - in stitches (on the ribbon)

I die cut a circle, then drew feint lines in pencil so I could align the sentiments.  I them stamped (firstly in red) then in black.  The image is another stamp fairy one, coloured in promarkers.  I then stapled a ribbon with stitching on the side.

Thank you once again for taking time out to stop by and read, please leave me a comment so I know you've been
Warmest hugs in the autumn chill

Friday Sketch Challenge's newest DT member!

OMG - I am so delighted to announce that I have been chosen to become a Design Team member for the Friday Sketch Challenge.

Each week I'll be posting my entry for the DT, I can't tell you how excited I am!

Heres my first post.

Using a stamp fairy digi image (I just love that cute dog!) - I coloured it with promarkers.

I then used background papers that came free with a magazine a few months ago (free stuff is always the best!). I die cut the image and mounted on paper from the same pack and put a lace edge around the image.  I used a doily for the semi circle along with more paper from the pack, gems for the two corners and then used flowers from my stash.  The sentiment was from the banner collection at Marianne dies.

and here it is - my first DT entry!

woo hoo - so excited, please pop over and check out the weekly challenge!

keeping it simple part 2.

Hello everyone.

a little later than promised.. but that's because I made a card, took all the pictures then decided it wasn't good enough.  This was a really tough challenge for me, but it's always good to try different things!

It has however given me the opportunity to blow the dust off some old Christmas stamps.  The black stamped image and sentiment on the card below was from an old collection I almost gave away.  I think its a penny black set.

To make this card, I stamped the background using inkadinkado stamp, and embossed using WOW sparkling snow embossing glitter.  I then stamped the penny black image onto white card before die cutting out and dusting with iridescent glitter..  finally I stamped a sentiment in the bottom corner, and repeated without reinking to get the faded look.

I would like to enter this into

Keep it simple - challenge #34 - all is white
Less is more - white on white

Thanks for taking the time to stop by - its appreciated, please leave me a message so I know you've been

PS. while I was playing with the stamps - I also made these... they could be the simplest design I've ever made and may well be the mass produced Christmas card to send to my family and friends this year. What do you think?
This one was made with stamps from chloe
this was the penny black ones again with the same triple stamped sentiment technique but using a splash of red to give some colour.

Keeping it simple!

Good evening everyone!

Its that time of the week again - the end of a lovely weekend, with the prospect of work for another five days!

So while I was blog hopping yesterday - and might I add there are some lovely ones out there! I came across a couple of clean and simple ones.  I do like this style but I'm not brave enough to do it often, as I always feel that it needs something else and I do have to stop myself from adding extra's!

I want to enter this card into CAS-ual Fridays for chevron and sequins. CFC 116

In my stash I actually found sequins with chevrons on!  It's amazing what you find when you dig hard enough.  I made this in preparation for my little (although now not so little) brother, so I hope he doesn't sneak a peak.  I love this typewriter font - it was from a free font website I've used it on a few things since finding it!  The photo doesn't really show how striking this is, but now the nights are drawing in, its difficult to get any great photos.  HINT for Christmas present Hubby - I need a daylight bulb lamp and white box!!! (let's see if he bothers reading my blog eh!)

I have some finishing touches to a white on white Christmas card - and will post this separately as soon as its finished!

Thanks for stopping by - oh and welcome to the new members to my blog - thank you for signing up, it makes my day each time i see a new person joining, and all of your comments keep me going!

See you in a while

Halloween invite

Good evening all.

I've made this little invite to send to my friend for a Halloween party.  Every year we get together as two families and have a fancy dress Halloween party - and this year will be no exception!  Its our turn to host so I thought I'd send her this as a nice surprise in the post.  It also just so happens to fit into some of the challenges on my usual blogs (funny that!)

I'd like to enter:
  • Papertake weekly - anything goes with a Halloween treat holder (the treat is a whole party!)
  • Passion for promarkers - lots of legs
  • I love promarkers - #187 make your own flowers (the roses are cut with scalloped scissors and rolled and the others are punched from white card and coloured with distress inks and stickles)
  • 613 Avenue Create - create your own challenge (image, paper punch, stickles, flowers, ribbon)
  • Crafty little fairies - Autumn colours (I'm hoping you'll allow with dark green, orange, and brown but forgive the bit of purple.. if not please delete)

The image was a free digi stamp from http://freedeariedollsdigistamps.blogspot.co.uk/  Thank you to this site for the freebie!  The background papers were from a Nitwit digi kit, printed and distressed.  (its difficult to read the background paper but it says cute things like boo, candy, eerie, bats etc)

The image was a little small and fiddly to colour and I've also realised I need to buy more orange promarkers as I only have one shade! (oh dear what a shame, more crafty goodies for me then!)

Thanks so much for stopping by leave me a comment so I know you've been!
