Friday sketch challenge 81

Hello everyone.

Happy Friday and a its a particularly happy Friday for the Evans house as its our little boys fourth birthday today.  We are off for two days in Legoland Windsor to celebrate the occasion and I can't wait for some lovely family time, although I think I may well be exhausted by Sunday!

In the meantime, it is once again Friday Sketch challenge time, this time a lovely sketch from Gea
Sponsored by

Here's my take using a lovely image from our sponsor.  She's so adorable.

The background is a piece of coated card, coloured using Mustard seed distress ink, and water to speckle the background. I then doodled the spiders and cobwebs using a black pen and a white gel pen for their eyes. The purple is also a distress ink this time dusty Concorde and the spider web black background and sentiment were from a digi kit.  The image was coloured with promarkers.

Thanks for stopping by - if you do please leave me a comment just so I know who's visiting!  Please drop by at Friday Sketch and check out the other DT work and of course to upload your take on Gea's sketch!  see you all after Legoland....
Love

Sentimental Sundays - too cute to spook

Hello everyone.

It is again time for another Sentimental challenge, this time - too cute to spook.  Our lovely sponsors

have offered a great prize of three images.

Here's my cute little spook - and oh my isn't he just sooo sweet. I've made a little trick or treat bag for my Son ready for Halloween.

The bag was made using Nitwit backing papers with a computer generated sentiment.  My cutie little ghost is coloured with promarkers and the bag is finished with orange and purple ribbon.

Please stop by and check out the fantastic DT inspiration and why not join in, just don't forget the Sentiment!!

See you soon - thanks for any lovely comments..

Friday Sketch challenge 80

Hi everyone

Sshhh - I know its not Friday, but this should have been posted yesterday.  I had some timing issues, i.e. work seems to have gotten in the way of crafting this week.  Oh well, how else to I continue to purchase crafty goodies, if I don't earn some pennies!!

this weeks sketch is by Deborah and it looks like this:

and here is my take on it

The image and sentiment are from Cuddly Buddly and are coloured with promarkers.  The snowman was glittered (hence the reason why it looks a bit green??) and the snow flakes I used my liquid pearls.  I made the roses with brown card and some gesso to look like snow.  The background was embossed using a free folder from a magazine (who doesn't love a freebie eh!)

please stop over and have a go at our latest sketch and check out the other DT inspiration

thanks for stopping by, please leave me a message so i know you've been

Lots of love

2 cards today... and No DT

Hello everyone

No DT for SS today - I've been so busy making cards to give out I have not had chance to participate int the Sentimental Sundays Challenge, although my first card does have a button on it - I could have just used that one I suppose!

I've also started the Christmas card list - looks like i'm going to be a busy bee for the next few weeks.  Sorry hubby - I have to craft...

I have two cards to post today, one for my little boys friend Max, and another for my best friends daughter who is sixteen soon.

This was made with some docraft backing papers and brown card.  with a lili of the Valley image and sentiment stamp, coloured with promarkers

I'd like to enter this into:
Lili of the valley - anything goes
Papertake - anything goes
Crafting at the weekend - anything goes
Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Alphabet challenge - Round or rectangle (both)

My next project is to celebrate both All dressed up first birthday and blog hop - but made for my friends daughter who will be 16 soon.

Made with a diggity dog docraft pad, elements were cut out using my silhouette.  The flowers were made using Tim Holtz tattered flowers die, and some made with the technique learned at my class last week - I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot of these!  The image was coloured with promarkers

All dressed up - Birthday blog hop
Kitty Bee designs - die cut (flowers and electronic cutting for back ground elements)
7 kids college fund - anything goes
Creative moments - anything goes

Thanks so much for stopping by - hope you like my two very different creations. I'm off to blog hop (while listening to this years first X factor elimination - come on the over 25's!!)

See you soon - oh and welcome to the new followers,  Thanks for your lovely comments.  They always brighten my day and make me smile!

Sentimental Sundays - Bling it up!

Hello everyone

Its Sunday - so you know whats coming, another challenge from the talented team over at Sentimental Sundays

I've just come back from a lovely crafty workshop, been learning new techniques such as crackle glazing and distress ink techniques so I currently have blue inky fingers and am covered in paint and glitter... bliss!
Back to the challenge of bling it up!  we are kindly sponsored by ppinkydolls

This was my first time using these images and they are great for an alternative, and easy to colour as some of the shading is already highlighted on the drawing.  Also if your not confident at colouring - you can buy them ready coloured in their etsy shop.

Here is my take on the challenge - the photos don't show my bling up very well, but the row of dots coming from the flowers are very sparkly crystal gems, and the wings are covered with iridescent glitter.

The backing papers are from a pad called Blank Canvas from first edition.  I used only spectrum noir pencils to colour her for a softer look.  the flowers were Die cut and punched out and layered.  The sentiment is one from Lili of the valley.  I finished the edges with a brown felt pen to look like stitching and put on the crystals and glitter to finish.

Hope you like her - if your card has some bling and a sentiment, please stop over at SS and enter this week, or if it doesn't, just stop by and say Hi to the talented DT team.

I'd like to enter this into:

613 Avenue Create - Anything goes
Glitter and sparkle - anything with a 'B' - Bling, Blue, Butterfly
Crafting at the weekend - anything goes
digitally Sweet - lots of flowers (digi image)
Left of centre - 3 or more layers
Polkadoodles - anything but square

That's it for now - See you soon, and if you have landed here, thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings and leave me a message.

Midweek post - can you believe it!

Hello everyone

This week I appear to be super organised and have for once have had chance to just make something, just because...  Given Christmas is only a few weeks away I thought I should make a start on my cards instead of my usual last minute dash to make them all.

I saw a Facebook post yesterday from LoTV about their discontinued stamps being available on eBay.  Well I couldn't really pass up the opportunity to let some of these go,  so I naughtily ordered some mega cute ones, including loads for Christmas.  Today on Facebook, LoTV announce they are to retire 200 stamps... I've already selected those I need to add to my collection before they disappear but this could get expensive! I may need to ask for some early Christmas pressies.  Hubby - if you're reading this - big hint!!!!

Here's what I made with one of them.

The papers are from a nitwit digikit called winter wishes.  The image is coloured with promarkers (skin - blush, sunkissed pink, coral and carmine pink, Hair - walnut and shale.  Clothes - Glacier blue, sky blue and arctic blue, warm grey 2 and 3, cool grey 1, sandstone, tan, caramel, cinnamon, shale with pear green, forest green and marsh green for leaves).
The sentiment is a crafter companion one from a die-sire set, finished with snowflake die cuts, hessian jute, flowers stamped from a polkadoodles kit and all distressed with broken china and vintage photo distress inks.

I'd like to enter this into:

Die cutting divas - anything goes (Die cut snowflakes)
Holly Jolly Christmas - anything goes Christmas
Top tip Tuesday - non traditional colours
Cutie pie challenge - use three (three flowers)
Merry Monday Christmas Challenge - use polka dots

thanks so much for dropping round - lovely to see new members, welcome.  I've dropped by your blogs and joined too.

Please leave me some love if you stop here, it makes my day to ready your comments!

See you soon
