Last challenges for 2013

Evening bloggers!

I can't believe that 2013 has nearly gone, and what a year for me.  I started my blog and have done three wedding stationary sets this year, not to mention everything else that happened at work and in with my lovely family.  I am blessed!

To finish this year off - here's some challenges I've made over the last couple of evenings while I've been relegated to the craft room while hubby plays his x-box game he got for Christmas.. oh dear, poor me!!

Once again apologies for the photo quality - I've had to edit in photoplus due to my light - but... I have ordered with my Christmas money a light box thingie so as soon as it arrives, the shadows and over exposure will be no more! (She says hoping she can remember how the settings change on her camera!)

The first one is for:
Papertake - Sketchie free for all - chosen #79 from May
Allsorts - brown, blue and aqua
Inkspirational - anything goes
Seize the birthday - anything goes
Crafty Sentiments - Birthday

My fairy is a digi stamp from Meljen designs (BTW she has some cute freebies on the site too!).  I've coloured in promarkers (Vanilla, blush and sunkissed pink for the skin, aqua, glacier blue, denim and blue pearl for the dress, canary yellow for the crown and tan, caramel and cocoa for the hair)  her fairy dust is Jones tones diamante glitter.  the backing papers are from a digi kit, and I've mounted on brown kraft wrapping paper, finished with a rickrack, a wooden heart, and a sentiment.

The second one is for
Sketch and Stash for the lovely sketch (I turned the sketch 90 degrees)
Crafty little fairies - anything goes
This is one of the freebies on Meljen designs.  using the remainder of the backing paper I printed for the above card, I also printed the word YOU and cut into squares.  Matted and layered everything up, then used a punch and crocheted ribbon for the edge.  The flowers were off cuts of the paper, curled and glittered with die cut leaves.

My final card is for Cas(E) this sketch.

this is a digi stamp from Stitchy bear - I won three stamps on Cutie pie challenge and this was one of the ones I chose!
Coloured in promarkers (tan, caramel, henna, shale, lime green, moss green, olive green, poppy and cool grey 2), then finished with red gems and backed onto red paper.

Thanks so much for dropping in - please leave me a lovely comment so i know you've been - it makes my day to read them!

oh and a very Happy New Year to you all - I hope it brings you health, happiness and prosperity!

New DT challenge

Hi all

well - I am soooo proud to announce I've been chosen as a DT for another challenge blog.  Sentimental Sunday have kindly picked me along with some other ladies to form their DT for the coming few months.  I note that some of those lovely ladies have joined the blog - so welcome!  I'll pop over to yours later and join up!  Can't wait for some new challenges in 2014!

Well Christmas is almost upon us, only 6 more sleeps until the big day... I might just get everything wrapped and given out by then, although its gonna be tight!!

I've got one more Christmas card to make and write and then I'm done - so I thought I'd share some of my most precious ones!

The first one is for my husband.  Using a clean and simple design, I've digi stamped a cuddly buddly image 5 times and used it to colour and layer.  its coloured with promarkers (poppy, ruby, walnut, cool grey 1 to 5, olive green, lime green, moss, vanilla, tan and caramel), then using the all important glitter (used red and gold) to finish.  The whole thing was mounted onto a printed background with the sentiment all put together in craft artist Sorry about the pictures - I can't seem to get the right balance without the natural daylight

I want to enter this on into:
Passion for promarkers - Include a sentiment
Papertake - Last Christmas card
Here come the boys - Anything goes
Glitter and sparkle - red and green
613 Avenue Create - anything goes with CAS twist

This next one was made for my Mother in law to send to my Father in law.  The backing papers are from a Kay Miller digi kit and the image was another cuddly buddly image.

It was as ever coloured with promarkers.  This one was made as an easel card.

I want to enter this into:
I love promarkers - more than one fold
Here come the boys - anything goes

Thanks so much for dropping by - please leave me a message if you do - so I know you've been.

My interpretation was done for my friends birthday.  Using a cuddly buddly stamp, I coloured with promarkers (I forgot to write the colours down for this one... sorry!)
the backing papers are from a digi set that came with craft artist.
This was a great sketch, so versatile, so why don't you give it a go, and upload your cards to Friday Sketch Challenge

Thanks for dropping by - please leave me a comment if you have so I know you've been!

Yay!

in the nick of time??

Hi all

I've just found a lovely little stamp and sketch challenge - time link finishes is 12 midnight tonight... time is now 11.40pm, am I going to make it.  I hope so!

this is my interpretation of the sketch on Sunday Sketch and Stamp

I used some embossed pearlescent card onto a back ground paper (from my drawer not sure where its from!)  the image is a stamp fairy digi stamp, coloured with promarkers.  (Almond, dusky pink, sunkissed pink, aqua, glacier blue, denim, vanilla, caramel, tan and sandstone) and then glittered using a quickie glue pen and iridescent glitter.  The card  finished with a computerised sentiment, bow made of ribbon and string and some butterflies punched from the same embossed card.

Friday Sketch challenge - sketch 57

Hello everyone

time for the latest FSC - sketch 57!

this is the sketch
As designed by fellow DT Alison, and the prize is for $20 to spend online - got to be worth a go hasn't it!

I saw this a perfect opportunity to make another Christmas card - one for our lovely neighbours.

I dusted off an old red and green trimcraft paper pack for the backing papers, and matted and layered with a lovely rich dark green.  The image is a Lili of the Valley one, coloured with promarkers. (vanilla, caramel, tan, cool grey 1, 2, 3 and 4, ruby, poppy, olive green, moss green, lime green)
the sentiment is one from Marianne die and stamp set. I then used a paper punch for the border, holly and poinsettias (which were actually punched from a leaf shape and layered up on a scrap of card to make the flower) splodged lots of stickles around it, and voila - from our family to yours!#

We'd love to see you over at Friday Sketch Challenge so why not pop over and have a go!  can't wait to see what everyone creates...

I'd also like to enter this into:
Bearly mine - red and green

if you've dropped by - thank you so much, please leave me a comment so I know you've been!

Last day off :(

Hello everyone.

Today is my last day off. :(  after this we are not permitted holiday in December so I'm making the most of it.  I've spent this morning revision for my forthcoming exam, and now I'm doing what I love most... getting covered in glitter and glue and creating.

Firstly I'll share what I've made over the last couple of days.

When experimenting with the All dressed up digi stamps, I printed many different sizes and shapes (so I didn't waste card) so I've used some of them up to create these lovely cards.

This first one I want to enter into:

All dressed up - ribbon and lace
Flutterby Wednesday  - sketch challenge 262#
apologies, but the white on the side of the card, has affected the exposure of the overall photo, I've tried adjusting but its not the best!

Using blue spotty backing paper (actually from a christmas paper pack!) and following the sketch on Flutterby wednesday I constructed the back ground.  die cut the little girl, and coloured using promarkers (Glacier blue, soft aqua, denim, almond, blush, ivory, vanilla, coco, sandstone, tan).  I used white organza ribbon and coloured with denim promarker for colour match, made a cute bow and layered everything up.  finished with two punched butterflies, covered with versamark and Blue blast (Wow) embossing powder

The second one is my my Nieces Birthday next week not to enter into any challenges just for fun!

I already had the image, and so I printed purple backing paper (although it doesn't look very purple in the picture??) and flowers in the same colour.  The then cut out the flowers, shaped and glued, and added glitter to the centres.  The image is coloured in promarkers (vanilla, tan, sandstone, cocoa, almond, dusky link, blush, sun-kissed pink, amethyst, lilac, light mauve and aubergine).  the butterfly is a little wooden shape, covered with versamark and Judikins purple sparkly embossing powder)

Hope you like them - oh and welcome to the new members - it makes me do a little happy dance when I see new people are interested in what I have to say and make!!

If you do stop by - please leave me a message I'm off to make Harrison's cards for his friends at nursery - I went to The Range yesterday and they have cute little 3 x 3 and 4 x 4 square cards, so it will be easy to make and mass produce using some toppers I've got!
enjoy!

ps - back with the new Friday sketch challenge tomorrow morning - don't miss it!

best laid plans... and all!

Hello bloggers.

On Monday - I was so full of plans - I had intended to make several cards and post them, but those plans went by the wayside, when my temperature shot up and I've ended up with a nasty bout of flu.  I only had the jab last Thursday, but I must have caught the virus around the time I got my shot, when my Harrison brought it home for Nursery on Wednesday! Typical!!!

Anyway, starting to feel more human (although this may have something to do with the constant supply of cold remedies) and have ventured back to my little space while Harrison is at nursery.

I made this one to enter:

Lawnscaping - polka dots (the background is embossed with dots, as are the flowers)
Lili of the valley monthly challenge - pink and white
613 Avenue create - anything goes
Addicted to stamps - make your mark

This is a Lili of the valley image, coloured with promarkers (ivory, vanilla, tan, sandstone, pale blossom, blossom, pastel pink, dusky pink, sorbet, cool grey 3 and 4).  it is on a spotty embossed 8 x 8 card.  layered with flowers, ribbon and diamante pins from my stash, and a tag with sentiment.  Finished with bling and glitter (as most of my cards are!) BTW I experimented around the edge of the die cut to get a matching finish.  Using a blender pen and soaking the edge, I then ran the blossom promarker around, and it has created a soft edge with no harsh lines - quite pleased with that one!!

Thanks so much for stopping by - please leave me a comment (so I know you've been).

ps - back to the desk for more creating I think...

Happy 1st Birthday Charley

Hello fellow bloggers!

A rare treat today - I'm off work in lieu for the working the weekend, so after catching up on housework, I have found myself in the craft room once again for some me time...

This first card (I will return later with some more no doubt) is to wish Charley a happy 1st birthday.

I also want to enter this into:

Cutie pie - Little cuties
Crafty little fairies - inspired by a song  (Puppy love)
Addicted to stamps - challenge 71 anything goes

This was created using pink petticoat papers, arranged on craft artist 2 to create the background and the happy birthday sentiment all the way around. I inked the edges using Faded Jeans distress ink
The cute puppy is one of the freebies from 'all dressed up freebies' and I printed the digi stamp and coloured with promarkers.  (Cool aqua, denim, cool grey 1, 3 and 4).  He was cut out and stuck on with pinflair to give the card depth, isn't he cute!!

Back later with some more!
Thanks for stopping by, please leave me a message so I know you've been!

All dressed up for Autumn

Hello everyone

After another busy weekend at work, I managed to sneak in a little crafty time last night, but by the time I'd finished it was a bit too late (even for me) to complete my blog post - so here it is.

I purchased another 'All dressed up' digi stamp, its the Autumn girls and the are just adorable.

I made this card to enter
All dressed up - Autumn colours or give thanks
Flutterby Wednesday - use brown
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes with optional 'Thank you'
Bearly mine - anything goes
Glitter and Sparkle - Autumn colours

using all digi papers, sentiment and stamp, coloured with promarkers to match the backing paper.  I then used some vintage lace and a punched border, punched 4 butterflies, in two colours and layered, coloured paper flowers to match too. Finished off with stickles on the flowers and pearls

this one is to enter:
CAS(e) this sketch - sketch #53
All dressed up - Autumn colours
Sentimental Sunday - warm and cosy

This one was a sentiment printed onto pearlescent card, with more vintage lace as a border to form the shape for the sketch.  The girl was coloured with promarkers and cut out.  Nice and simple, but doesn't she look cosy!

Hope you like them!, thanks for popping by please leave me a message it always makes my day to receive the emails!

See you soon

The frame was cut using two spellbinder dies, and again lifted off the page.  finished with a tag and ribbon.

The backing paper is from pink petticoat and digi printed, and the white was dry embossed.

I'd like to enter this into
Papertake - anything goes
I Love promarkers - all that glitters (the girls underskirt is glittery)
613 Avenue Create - Anything goes
CASual Fridays - embossing (dry embossed middle strip)

I hope you like her.  Thanks for stopping by, leave me a message if you have so I know you've been, and good luck with the challenge!

zzzz a long week!

Good very early morning!

Firstly I have to apologise for the lack of blogging this week, I haven't had much craft time as I've had to work nights, and the change of shift has upset my body clock.. zzzzzz.  That should now be over with so I can happily return to my sanctuary that is the craft room!

I've made two cards again to enter in several different challenges.

This one is to enter into
Papertake weekly its a sketch this week - ladies I've rotated and added an extra layer - as it was looking a little lost... hope this is ok!
Glitter n sparkle - use leaves - on my flowers at the bottom.
avenue create 613 - anything goes
I love promarkers - anything goes
Cutie pie - bingo - i used (on the diagonal line) Glitter, Ribbon and Flowers)

I used a digi image from 'all dressed up' and coloured the girls to match the patterned backing paper which was from first edition paper pack called 'Isobelle'.  i used a die cut heart border and some ribbon behind, and some vintage lace across the horizontal.  all finished off with flowers and oodles of glitter.

the next card I want to enter into

Sketch and stash  - challenge 124
Creative inspirations - Bingo - i used a stamped image, ribbon, frantage. (i hope digi stamp counts!)

This is using a stamp fairy image, coloured in promarkers and glittered.  using ribbon, lace and a tag.  the presents are a tim holtz die called presents and bows.  Then scattered all around in blue aqua frantage

thanks for stopping by - and welcome to the new followers, it is very much appreciated, as are all the comments from the all the people who stop by to say hello!

I'll try not to leave it so long next week!
