Sentimental Sundays - Back to School

Hello blog land.

Sunday means time for another sentiment card for our Sentimental Sundays challenge.  This time - back to school!

Sponsored by bugaboo stamp,

Here's my card for this.

I made it for one of my little boys friends who is leaving nursery this week to go to primary school.  Harrison is so upset that he's not going to see his buddies again, I made this card and put my contact details inside so hopefully they can meet up for play dates.

The papers are from Etsy and the image was kindly donated by the sponsor.  Colored with promarkers (hair - sandstone, tan and cinnamon.  Skin almond, blush and sun kissed pink, shirt lime green, olive green and forest green.  Shorts - denim and Capri blue.  Shoes - cool grey 1 and 3.  Apple - lime green and poppy).  I used Craft artist 2 to cut out the frame and place a black square behind to make it look like a blackboard.

Friday Sketch challenge 77

Hi everyone

Oh no! I've just released that if its Friday then I'm coming to the end of a fabulous week off, and have a fun filled family weekend coming up, so it will be Monday far too soon!

Its time for another Friday challenge, this time sponsored by:

With a sketch from Carole

Heres my interpretation:

Shes from our sponsor and isnt' she just super cute!  coloured with promarkers (hair - primrose, buttercup, gold, mustard and cinnamon.  Skin - Almond, blush, dusky pink and sunkissed pink.  Bear - vanilla, tan and sandstone.  Rose - pastel pink, carmine and hot pink)
the background papers ad flowers are all from a Kay Miller digi kit called fruitilicious matted and layered with plain black card.
To print, i used cheap computer paper for the background layer and flowers, then printed the digi image and cut her out from Rymans coated card.

I hope you like her - if you have landed her, I love to read the messages you leave!

Holiday crafting (and tidying up)

Hello everyone - a rare treat that I am posting just for the fun of it today!

I have spent most of the day tidying my craft room, as it was in rather a mess.  The trouble with working full time and having a little one, is that in the couple of hours I snatch here and there to craft, the last thing I want to do it stop and put everything back away, but it had gotten to the point that I had less than my cutting mat to use for space, and my grand caliber was being used on the floor as I hadn't got enough work surface left!

So after 3 hours of resorting, tidying, and a jolly good craft clear out I know have a lovely space to once again refill with clutter!

Here was today's crafty make.

This was made as a commission for someone changing their job.

the papers are from a nitwit digi kit called petal fresh (but you can buy the paper pack from Lili of the valley).  The frame is paper clay moulded from a Martha Stewart mould and painted with acrylic paint. Flowers from wild Orchid crafts and ribbon, cheesecloth and die cuts from stash.  The sentiment is a LoTV stamp from one of their handwritten collection

Sentimental Sundays - shaker cards

Hello to everyone.

oooo - I'm getting excited!  although I'm at work today (booooo), I'm off all next week, so apart from a few small jobs I can spend some quality time next week with my glittler, promarkers and stamps and create some pretty things.  Probably Christmas cards and presents to try and get ahead, but I'm so looking forward to this!! wooo hooo!

Over to this weeks challenge at Sentimental Sundats - this week it's shaker cards.  Now I haven't made one of these for years, but we were kindly given some cut files to use from Cutting Cafe who are are very generous sponsors this week.

I love the butterfly one - its so pretty.

My Lovely tilda was coloured with promarkers and Spectrum noir pencils, the paper is from a digi kit i downlaoded from etsy.  The butterlfy die cut along the edge is a tonic one and the embelishements were from my stash.  The sentiment is from the crafters companion die'sire sets. The shaker stuff insude is a combination of pink fine glitter and white micro beads.

This one is a Lili of the Valley stamp, which i cut out and coloured again with promarkers and spectrum noir pencils.  the paper are from a Paperstack pad.  The sentiment is anotehr die'sire one, but this time form the Christmas set.  I used my sillhouette machine to cut out the snow flakes and pine cone embellishment and inked the edges of this too.  The bow is made from a section of florist ribbon.  The bits inside are a combination of snow glitter and tiny whiote micro beads.

Thank you for stopping by to take a look, please leave me a message so I know you've been, and please hop over to Sentimental Sundays and check out our telented DT team creations!

See you next week! eekkk.

Sentimental Sundays - Monochrome

Hello everyone

Happy weekend to you all - hope your getting time to relax.  Don't the weeks just seem to be flying by at the moment, I don't know where the time  is going!

Hope you  get chance to hop over to Sentimental Sundays this week where our challenge is Monochrome. Kindly sponsored by Aurora Wings.  I love these digi stamps, so challenging to colour and so striking.

Here is my monochrome card.

the butterfly was coloured with a combination of promarkers and spectrum noirs.  I printed the image twice and cut out the butterfly to layer up afterwards.
I've also used lots of glitter and sparkle and gems (difficult to see in the photo but in real life its very sparkly!)
The sentiment is computer generated, and I Google'd quotes.  I found this one by Sophia Loren and thought it to be very appropriate for this striking image. As its quite small it says ;
Beauty is how you feel on this inside, and it reflects in your eyes

Hope you like it - please do stop by Sentimental Sundays and check out our talented DT work, as well as have a go at our challenge.

Thank you to all my followers, and to those who leave a message, it means a lot to know you're all out there!

Sentimental Sundays 219 - complete card inside and out.

Hello everyone.

We've had a very busy couple of weeks here in the West Midlands.  My husband and I (well mainly my husband) is digging and landscaping the garden.  I have neglected my craft room for a few days, but I am pleased to announce it is now almost finished and my old familiar chair now has my bottom on it once again!

This week over at Sentimental Sundays our challenge is 'Finish your card inside and out'

Here's my card, finished on the inside to match.

This is my first ever magnolia card/stamp.  I brought the stamp from a Facebook craft group.
She's been coloured in a combination of promarkers and spectrum noir.  Almond - skin, duck egg - dress, caramel -  hair and then all shading done with various spectrum noir pencils.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts, and buttons from a seller on eBay, flower ribbon was from the rag market in Birmingham.  The tickets are stamps that I cut out, and the frame is a sizzix one.
The papers inside and out are from a first edition pad called blank canvas.

I'd like to enter this into:

Bearly mine - anything goes
Natalie and Amy's Challenge - Die cuts and flowers (die cut frame and lots of flowers)
Bastel Traum - colour combination

Thanks for stopping by and taking time to read my blog and leave some kind messages.

Sentimental Sundays - favourite hair colour

Hellllooooo everyone

hope your weekend is going well, although I always find its about 5 days too short!

it is again time for our Sunday Sentimental challenge, and this time its favourite hair colour.

Now,  I have to be honest  I have slightly changed the working of this challenge, and called it artistic interpretation.  When I saw the images from our very generous sponsor - East wind, I thought she demanded something more extraordinary than blonde or brunette so..... I changed my challenge to hair in your favourite colour.

Meaning I could then use my favourite colour - purple to shade her hair...

And here she is

she was coloured with a combination of promarkers and spectrum noir pencils (too many colours to list!)

the sentiment and border were generated with the digi on craft artist.  the finishing touch was three sparkly gems on her hair clip.

Please hop over to sentimental Sunday and check out the other DT work for some amazing inspiration, and why not try joining us with a fab image of your favourite hair colour.

Thanks you for all your comments, it means a lot you take time to read my ramblings and look at my much loved work!

I'd like to enter this into:

Crafting at the weekend - anything goes
Crafty calender challenge - anything goes
Inkspirational - use markers or pencils (both)
Kit and Clowder - fun hair combos
Bearly mine - anything goes
