Friday Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone

Its Sketch time!!

A new sketch this time was by...... wait for it.... yes me!! Hooray, this is my first ever sketch design, I'm thrilled.
Our generous Sponsors are Saturated Canary, offering $8 to spend on images in their store.

I used this opportunity to make my gorgeous little niece a second birthday card, so firstly Happy birthday Lowri.

The image is one from Crafters Companion, shes so adorable and I had forgotten about her until I had a bit of a sort out recently.  The papers are from the Hot Diggity Dog collection.  Papers were shaped and finished with some crocheted ribbon, pink candi and two butterflies.  the sentiment was computer generated. the little postmarks are from Lili of the valley.

She was coloured with promarkers (Rose pink, tea rose, watermelon, shocking pink for her dress, sandstone, caramel, henna and Shale for her hair, blush and sunkissed pink for her skin, Poppy and Ruby for the mushroom, Meadow Green, Lime green, Moss and Olive green for the grass and warm greys 2 to 4 for shading and mushroom)  I finished her with a white gel pen, and glitter - what sort of fairy doesn't have sparkly wings!!!

I hope you like her!  please leave me a message so I know you've been and check out the other talented DT over at FSC!

Love

Sentimental Sundays Challenge 195 - Make your own background

Hello everyone

its Sunday - so it is once again time for the latest challenge at Sentimental Sundays - this time make your own background. Kindly sponsored this week by:

I made this one using only one piece of A4 pearlescent card, printed a quote I found on a copyright free page, and the sponsors digi image (three times so I could layer it up) cut the card to size.  The background is a paisley stamp from the English Stamp company, I used Stazon as other inks smudge on this type of coated card.

The quote was then matted and layered, decoupage the image, added black ribbon and this is my finished article!

I hope you like it!

I'd like to enter this into:

Open Minded Crafting - Monochrome
A creative romance - Sentiment

Sentimental Sundays challenge 194 pack a punch

Hi everyone...

This challenge over at Sentimental Sundays is called pack a punch (so you can use a punch or a die cut!)

Sponsored by Doodle Pantry
I'm getting a bit fed up of grey skies and pouring rain, so my card this week is full of springtime colours to remind me of daffodils and crocus, and hopefully some sunnier weather!

The backing papers are from a Kay Miller digi kit (fruitilicious) and the stamp is from the sponsor (and isn't he the sweetest little chap!).  He was coloured with promarkers (canary yellow, amber and bright orange for his feathers, lime green and chartreuse for the cupcake wrapper, rose pink and watermelon for the topping, and shading with warm grey 2 to 4.  The punch element is a border along the side (difficult to see in some photos) and the flower which is my latest craft purchase, its Tim Holtz, tattered flowers (and I love it!).  This flower was slightly distressed by crumpling the paper and adding a spot of peeled paint distress ink.  The sentiment came with the image, I just changed the colour and put it onto a coloured background.

I hope you like my bright and cheery card, please hop over to Sentimental Sundays, check out the amazing DT projects for inspiration and remember to use a punch or a die and the required sentiment!

I'd like to enter this into:

Pink Gem Challenge - spots and stripes
Digi Galore - Things with wings
Just us Girls - Colours (with photo inspiration)
Bloggers - Use two or more patterned papers
Brown Sugar Challenge - Use a punch or die cut

Thanks so much for stopping by!

See you soon

Friday Sketch Challenge #63

Hello everyone

It is Friday - so that can only mean one thing - its time for another challenge over at Friday Sketch Challenge.

This time the lovely Penny has done a great sketch!

We are sponsored this week by

who are giving away a £5 gift voucher for the winner.

And here's my take on it.

using another all dressed up image (yes I know I will use others but I love these images soooo much!!).  shes coloured with promarkers (lilac, amethyst and aubergine for her dress and balloons, caramel, cinnamon and henna for her hair, blush, sunkissed pink for her skin) the paper is from a digi kit and then the edges inked with dusty Concorde distress inks, all matted and layered on black.  the back ground panel is faux stitched.  i used a white gel pen and then added tiny black dots to make it look like the needle had gone through the paper. I finished the balloon with some glossy accents.

I hope you like it!

I want to also enter this into:

Anyway enough feeling sorry for myself - time for craft!!

It is once again challenge time over at Sentimental Sundays.  this time challenge 193 - buttons and bling.  We are kindly sponsored by All dressed up

Here is my card made with one of their newest images.
The papers are from a Kay Miller digi kit called Cranberry Fusion.  as are the flower embellishments.  I cut them out, shaped and added small buttons.  The image was coloured with promarkers, except her dress which was paper pieced from the backing paper.  The hearts are from my stash.

Sentimental Sundays challenge 192 - use pastel colours for a special woman

Hello everyone

well this challenge at Sentimental Sundays fell well, its my lovely Moms birthday on the 9th so what a perfect opportunity to make her a pretty card!

Our fab sponsor this week is

with an amazing prize of 7 free digis, Ladies (and gents of course) it must be worth thinking ahead for those special ladies in your lives and make them something to enter our challenge.  If you are stuck fro inspiration, please do hop over to Sentimental Sundays and check out the amazing DT team entries!

Firstly I apologise for the photo quality - I dropped one of my lamps and broke the bulb.  I'm awaiting a replacement, so it was taken in the best light I could get.

I used Butterfly silhouette I imported it into craft artist 2 and re-coloured it a dark mauve.  I then copied it twice more, each time making the shade of butterfly lighter and slightly smaller.  I then printed them all out on velum, and glittered the wings.

While the ink was drying on the velum, I took another digi kit (butterfly dream i think?) and used an embellishment for the background - coloured it in the same tones, and also added a digi doodle border I found on a scrapbooking website recently. Added the sentiment and the background was printed.  Finally I shaped and layered the butterfly used pink stickles for the body and voila.  (and not a promarker in sight for once!!)

We'd love to see you entries, so please stop by, and if you've ended here - please leave me a message so I know you've been!

Thanks to you all
Rachael
