Hello everyone.
I'm on a roll for extra posts this week. I've had some time off due to illness last week, and today is the last day of my Doctors note, but I am feeling much better, so today is some time for me. Little one's at Nursery, and the housework can wait!
Looking back through my posts its been a while I posted just for the sake of it, I'm so busy with DT stuff and requests, I don't get much chance to play with other bits.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered the pick of the week from create and craft. Its a CD Rom, with the matching stamps by Rachelle Ann Miller. I hadn't even unwrapped it until today! Here's my first creation using the CD.
I can't take credit for colouring this one - its just a topper.
The other equipment I'm testing out is a silhouette portrait, my hubby brought me as an early birthday present. I've looking longingly at these for a while, and finally persuaded him I needed one. I made the frame with it... not bad for a first attempt, need to get used to blade adjustments and the software, but it seems like its going to be a good investment... Thanks Matt!
Topper - Rachelle Anne Miller CD ROM from crafters companion
Frame - Silhouette
Flower, gems and Lace from stash
Sentiment and Love stamps - Lili of the Valley
Paper - Pink Petticoat and Kraft Card
Distress inks on edges - Tea Dye
Butterflies from digi kit
I'd like to enter this into
Sketch Saturday - Sketch 223
Pile it on - Floral Fantasy
Fussy and Fancy - Shabby Chic
Thanks for stopping by - your comments mean a lot!

Sentimental Sundays challenge 200
Hello everyone.
Almost the start of a new week. Booooo. But on a positive note it is the official start of spring today and the weather we have had here has been gorgeous and springlike. Hooray!
Sunday means another challenge from Sentimental Sundays. This time entitles add a doodle.Sponsored by:
I used a design called heart doddles. I've been meaning to have a go at Zentangle for a while, so add a doodle was the prefect opportunity to...well... doodle!
It was actually more difficult than I'd given credit for, I looked at a few ideas, but basically just went for it! Coming up with different doodles and shapes did begin to get difficult but I persevered and this is the result of my efforts!
I thought it needed a splash of colour, so added the red with my promarkers and some washi tape. the black spotty paper is from an old stack. The sentiment is a computer generated one.
Hope you like it - please hop over to the Sentimental Sundays blog and check out the other DT's amazing work and give it a go!!
If you stop by, please leave me a comment!
I'd also like to enter this into
2 Sisters challenge - Sue black, white and one other colour
Sister act Card challenge - Anything goes
That's crafty Challenge - Use ink (pens for zentangle and promarker for red)
Crafters Cafe - Add a doodle
With love

Sentimental Sundays challenge 199 - Springtime flowers
Happy Sunday everyone!
Sunday means another Sentimental Sunday challenge, and one we've waited a long winter for! Springtime flowers!!! Hooray. My garden is full of colour again, isn't it nice to look out of the window to see the happy yellow daffodils, purple crocus and tulips and all the fresh green leaves sprouting though. We've even had the odd sunny day here in Dudley too! Bring on the summer!!!!
Our sponsor is Dee Dee's digis
and they generously allowed us to play with some of their images. I chose the cutest duck with his wellies on!
Here is my card.
The flowers are from a Kay Carly stamp set, and I used bright dewdrop ink pads to stamp them I cut some out and put on foam pads for dimension. The digi image was coloured with promarkers and cut out, stuck onto the edge of the card (which was cut slightly narrower than the back of the card) finished with the digi sentiment that came with the duck.
I hope you like him - please hop over to Sentimental Sundays to enter and to check out the rest of the DT designs.
See you soon

Friday Sketch Challenge #65
Hello everyone
It's time once again for the Friday Sketch Challenge - this time by Shirley
ooooo what a great sketch!
This weeks prize is a secret stash of crafting goodies - how exciting, to have a crafty parcel arrive and not know its contents!!
Here is my take on the sketch.
The papers are from Dovecraft called Curiosity corner. (they were in the sale bit at The Range so a bargain!!) The image is a Lili if the valley one that i haven't used in a long time. I coloured it in promarkers to match the backing papers (teddy - Vanilla, Tan and Sandstone, Flowers denim blue, sky blue and cadet blue, greenery - lime green, moss and Olive green)
the brown on the matting is actually promarker too as I've run out of brown card stock, and the faux stitching was with a gel pen. The buttons are from a Docrafts paper capsule collection and finally the sentiment stamp is a postmark style also from LOTV.
Hope you like it - please hop over the FSC and check out the DT work, and also join in our challenge.
See you soon
Rachael
PS only 7 days until the NEC Craft show eekkkk excited!!!

Sentimental Sundays Challenge 197 - Card for a Man or Boy
Hello Everyone
Sentimental Sundays have a brand new weekly challenge. The DT's have done an amazing job of showcasing our sponsor this week,
With our Challenge - for a Man or Boy.
Male cards are always tricky, but I saw him and couldn't resist!
the papers are from Etsy, cut to size, corners punched and Vintage photo and tea dye distress inks used to age it. I painted my image using distress inks. Not too bad I think as it was the first attempt at colouring with them!
The sentiment is a grungy Lili of the valley one I though was perfect for this card.
and here he is....
Isn't he cute! please leave me a message if you stop here, and please check out the DT and our challenge at Sentimental Sundays
I want to enter this one into:
Anyone for Anya - Grungy/Masculine
Glitter n Sparkle - Anything goes
One stitch at a time - For a boy
Allsorts - Sport (Fishing)
Alphabet Challenge - B is for button

Sentimental Sundays Challenge 196 - Sketch
Happy Sunday everyone, meaning its time for a new weekly challenge at Sentimental Sundays.
This week we have a sketch for you
Kindly sponsored by Rick St Dennis - wow his art work is incredible.
This was a challenge for me as its a totally different style. I'm used to cute and girl, but this was so much more, and amazing to colour.
Shes called Moonlight Goddess in fog, so I thought she deserved a foggy background! Done with distress inks and a circle of paper for the moon. I've over stamped using a variety of stamps, the 'Believe' and the ivy is from Katy Sue designs, I have no idea where the others came from, they are so well used, they no longer stick to the block!!
The image is coloured in promarkers/flexmarkers (Chartreuse, lime green, forest green for her dress, blush and sunkissed pink for skin, amber, Ginger and henna for her hair and warm greys 2 to 4 for shadowing) - I was inspired to use green for a change. I never use green and thought as I was challenging myself - I'd go all out!!
I hope you love her as much as I do. Please hop over to see my fellow DT inspiration - they are an amazing team!
Oh and if you get here - leave me some love in a message so I know you've been!
Thanks
Rachael
