Sentimental Sundays - Summer challenge

Hello everyone.

We have finally had some good weather here in the West Midlands, however it was short lived and very temperamental, but to keep us in the mood this weeks challenge over at Sentimental Sundays is 'summer'.

And a scorcher of a sponsor (see what I did there eh!.  sorry....) is all dressed up.

Any followers will know how much I love their images and am thrilled to use the summer girls as part of my project.

the girls are coloured with promarkers - far too many to remember, most of my blue collection was utilised for a start!

the background papers are from a paper capsule collection from Papermania, and the shaped card is made using my latest creative and craft purchase - header tonic dies.  I love them!
butterflies are printed and cut out, flowers ribbon and cheesecloth from stash.

I'd like to enter this into:

Allsorts - Summer girls
Di's digis designs - lots of layers
inkspirational - blue with white
Paper creator - anything goes
Suzie B's bloomin challenge - anything goes
The doodle garden - summer
Chocolate, coffee and cards - Summer lovin'

Please stop over and enter our summery challenge, or a least look at our fabulous DT designs.  Just don't forget the sentiment to qualify!

Thanks for any lovely messages you leave - I really appreciate the time you take to leave feedback!

See you all soon

A post - just because...

Hello everyone - good evening

I am pleased that today I have made a card that is not commissioned for anyone, and is not for a DT, it is... just because!

I don't seem to have time to make and play, so this is a rare treat for me.

I recently joined 'All Dressed up' facebook group and they have an exclusive freebie called twinkle toes, so as it would be rude not to use a freebie - here she is.

She is coloured with promarkers (dress - Primrose, buttercup, pastel yellow, mustard and gold.  bow on dress - coral and heatwave. Skin - blush, sunkissed pink and coral.  Hiar - vanilla, tan, sandstone, caramel and cocoa.)
the papers are from a first edition pad called blank canvas
flowers are punched from same papers with a ribbon and computer generated sentiment.

I would like to enter this into:
Sketch and stash - sketch 142
Cutie pie challenge - cute girls
Crafty creations - things with wings
All dressed up - anything goes
fan-tastic Tuesday - anything goes

thanks for stopping by and leaving your lovely comments. See you all again soon.

Sentimental Sundays challenge 211 - animals

Hello everyone

It feels like ages since I last posted, but I've been on holiday for the last two weeks.  Myself, my husband and son have spent two weeks in sunny Cornwall and have had an absolute whale of a time!  My only complaint is that where we stayed had no 3G and limited wi-fi so I was unable to post and visit blogs or update my challenges...

Oh well, back to work tomorrow, however also back to a few home comforts and constant internet access!

Right then, the challenge from Sentimental Sundays this week is 'Animals'.  Our lovely sponsor Oak pond have donated some images and will be donating three images to the winner,

The animals must be of the 4 or more legged variety - basically no bugs or butterflies, but think pets and such like.

Here  is my card

I made this with a digi background, sentiment and digi stitches around the edge. My image was coloured with a combination of promarkers and my latest treat to myself, Spectrum noir pencils.  I decided to buy the full set in one go although I haven't told my hubby how much they were!  I'm slowly getting the hang of them, blending and layering, but I thought for animals it gives a bit more texture to the fur

I would like to enter this card into:

CAS - Always something creative
Anything Goes - Crafts galore encore
4 legged friends - Natalie and Amy's challenge
Say it with a sentiment - Scribbles design challenge
CAS - Stamping with the dragon

Thanks for stopping by, and if you do i'd love you to leave a message - I've missed them while I've been away!

Sentimental Sundays challenge 209 make it 'fab'ric

Hello blogland

Sunday again - my how the weeks are flying by.

This week our challenge i make it fab'ric'.  I have used felt as my fabric of choice.

we are sponsored by Paper pretties

and I used this mouse, I'd like to think its lemonade in that glass, but it may be something a little stronger!

I actually made a tag this week because I have a bottle to wrap as a present and thought this would be cool to decorate it with!

The flowers are felt cut with Tim Holtz funky flowers die and big shot machine, finished with a  blue brad
the image is coloured with the usual promarkers (Warm grey 2, 3 and 4, blush and sunkissed pink for the mouse, Arctic blue, Capri blue and glacier blue for the drink, turquoise for the straw and umbrella as well as Pineapple crush and buttercup for the yellow flowers and lemons)
the tag was from inkylicious with a piece of ric-rac ribbon coloured with promarker to match the image.

please stop over and check out the DT work, its amazing as usual, and have a go!

see you soon

Sentimental sundays challenge 208 - things with wings

Hello everyone.

It is once again Sentimental Sunday Challenge time - this week entitled things with wings.  Time to get creative again ladies and gents!

Sponsoring us this week is the fabulous Doodle Pantry

and here's the cute birdie, awwww I hear you all say!

I used one of the sponsors kindly donated images and printed him along with a digi backing paper that has a stripy texture to it.  i added one of the sponsors sentiments and converted it into white to make it stand out.
this was mounted on gold mirri card
I coloured him in with promarkers (Primrose, buttercup, pineapple crush, mustard and gold for the bird.  Tan, caramel, shale, moss, Olive green and marsh green for the branch, gold for the fire works)
The bird and fireworks were then cut out, before covering being covered with gold extra fine glitter, and adding more glitter behind the cut outs to make them look 3 dimensional
Finished with some string and button

Please stop over and check out my fellow DTs fabulous inspiration, oh and why not have a go!

If your already here - leave me a message so I know you've been!

See you all again soon
