Sentimental Sundays - Use Kraft card

Yey its the weekend (although not for long!)

Yesterday I went to the annual Scarecrow festival in Bellbroughton.  We had a wonderful time, but it reminded me that Autumn is well and truly upon us!

This change in season inspired my card for this weeks challenge, use kraft card.

we are kindly sponsored by Oak Pond images, and somewhere on your card you must have used kraft card (and of course a sentiment!)  now those who are observant may notice that the sentiment is the same as my card posted Friday - however i just love it and its so sweet (and appropriate) that i had to use it again...

The backing papers are from a serif digi kit called thanks giving and mats are plain black cardstock.  The image was coloured with promarkers (Starfish, amber, pumpkin, spice, cocoa, pear green, marsh green, tan, sandstone).  the flowers are made with Kraft card, die cut with Tim Holtz tattered florals die and inked on the edges.  I then wet them with water spray and shaped, sentiment was again computer generated.

I hope you like it!

Please stop by at Sentimental Sundays to check out our amazing DT work, and if you have landed here, let me know by leaving a comment, look forward to seeing your creations.

Friday sketch challenge 79

Hello everyone

Hope everyone is enjoying that Friday feeling!  Thank heavens the weekend is finally here, its been a tough week at work, and my craft room was still being assembled so I haven't been able to escape much! On Monday I was on the radio, with my other hobby.  I sing in a rock band and we were invited by local radio to sing live.  That was a new experience, quite nerve racking, but I loved every minute of it!! something else of the bucket list!

Half of my room is now finished. Once the whole thing is done, I promise I'll post pictures including the new pen storage system my lovely hubby has made!  Clever hubby!!

Anyway, enough rambling, on with the challenge... this time our sketch looks like this:

this was a great challenging shape!

We are very kindly sponsored by All dressed up - now my followers will now how much i adore these digi stamps, and i'm always so excited to be able to use them.  This time we have the cutest little witch!

The backing papers were from a Nitwit digi kit, and she was coloured with promarkers and spectrum noir pencils.  I had a spot of bother colouring the skirt as I printed the image a little small, so when in doubt, dig out the glitter!!

The sentiment was printed, coloured with matching promarker and cut individually, The bats and stars were also from the digikit, and I thought the bats deserved to be free flying, hence the acetate, and now they bob about quite nicely!!

What will you do with our sketch - I cant wait to see... please hop over to FSC and check out the inspiration from the other DT's.

thank you for your comments, please leave me some love if you land here!

Sentimental Sundays - Easel card

Happy Sunday everyone

As I write this I am cramped into a corner of my existing work space, as my very lovely husband is moving my desk to another corner of the room. This will me a new and improved craft room with much more space.  woo hoo!!  I can't wait to have everything laid out.  I'll take a picture once its done (it will only be tidy once!) to show you all and to remind myself to put things away occasionally.  Are you a messy crafter?

This week at Sentimental Sundays we're making easel cards.

Kindly sponsored by Sami stamps I made this:

the image was coloured with promarkers and Spectrum noir pencils.  The base I cut out using spellbinders nestibilities and a doily die.  the Sentiment is computer generated.  I used a Sue Wilson Poinsettia die, with ribbon, twine and a button for the bow.
the red mat was another scalloped nestibilities that I coloured with promarkers to match his jumper.  A perfect card for my brother and Sister-in-law for Christmas. (speaking of which I unbelievably brought my first batch of Christmas presents this week... just over 13 weeks to go!)

see you all again soon - please hop over to SS if you feel inspired to make an easel card, just dont forget the sentiment!

thank you for all your wonderful comments, and to my followers.  it means a lot to know that my work is appreciated.  It is my passion and it just gives that bit of confidence to know its good enough to be on the internet!

Friday sketch 78

Good morning Bloggers!

Hope you are all well.  Isn't Autumn closing in fast?  I've actually had my heating on tonight as its a bit chilly here in Dudley.

I have just found out I live 10 minutes from a wonderful craft shop.  Well its good news for me, but not so much for my Bank Manager!  I've brought some lovely crafty goodies and will be trying them out soon...watch this space!, but for now its our Friday sketch challenge.

Today we are sponsored by the fabulous Rick t Dennis.  I love colouring his images they are such a challenge!

the sketch looks like this:

and here is my take on it

She was coloured with a combination of promarkers and spectrum noir pencils.  the background is craft paper that I've distressed and used a stencil to ink though for the cogs and grungy feel.  I've then added flowers and hessian.  The swirls are paper clay made from a Martha Stewart mold.  the egde strip you can just see, is a Tim Holtz edge die that loks like the top of a note book.

I'd like to enter this into:

Addicted to stamps and more - make your mark
Crafting for all seasons - wheels/cogs (you can just make them out in the background in ink)
Simon says stamp - make your own background
Creative card crew - steampunk
A little bit crafty - distress it

thank you for stopping by - please hop on over the Friday sketch challenge and have a go.  Thank you for all your lovely messages, its so nice to read them!

see you all soon

Sentimental Sundays - a touch of vintage

Hi all

Once again - Sunday means its time to get sentimental and this time with a touch of vintage theme.  This week we are sponsored by:

Here's my card - a little out of my comfort zone with this one...

The image was donated by the sponsors and I coloured it with distress inks.
The back ground was from a digi kit called Lila designs Madame.  a beautiful digi scrapbook kit that has lots of embellishments.  I then added flowers from my stash, and liquid pearls onto the digi kit behind.

The sentiment is a computer generated one.

Hope you like it - please check out my talented DT friends over at Sentimental Sundays and give us a go, oh and if you have landed here, leave me a little love in the comments box
